Does anyone know if MFE programs place into quant researcher roles on the buy side?
I have a math degree and currently working as data analyst at a fundamental HF. My career goal is to work as a researcher at a quant fund.
I’m currently weighing the below options in order to break into quant HF -
1) do an MFE
2) take some online courses on data science/programming + quant interview prep + network my ass off + keep my current job to accumulate experience (although might be less relevant to quant HF)
3) do a PhD, although I do not have short term interest for academia/teaching
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks everyone!
