MS in Scientific Computing

Has anybody heard of this program?
NYU is offering one and it looks interesting.
Can you enter the financial quantitative analysis field with this degree ?

Looks like they do lots of numerical analysis and programming (which are essential in the financial engineering field)

any thoughts ?

Looks like an interesting degree and of course NYU is a well recognized school. I think this would be good for a quant developer role (not sure about it compared to just a ms in cs though). But for a quant research role, you would need to demonstrate an interest/knowledge of finance which this degree does not do.
