Hi guys/girls,

I have recently completed my phd in mathematical physics, with a huge emphesis on analytical/numerical solutions of nonlinear PDEs, with this background I thought mathematical modelling would be perfect for me..Hence, I took a job as a principle technologist (mathematical modelling) as a way to get up to speed in industrial problems, and also improve my oop as a bonus e.g. c++ & python ( I have come from a fortran driven academic world!) I love the job, as I do have a senior position, which I would never of got as a Phd entry level quant??!! so i don't want to move on to the quant field just yet..

However, this is the reason for my post, Can I move on to quant analyist roles from a job that is not as cutting edge as the mathematics I would come across in my perferred next job?

Regards,
