NYU Tandon MFE NYU Tandon MFE admissions thread

So until when do you think you can do so
What is the deadline given to admitted students for confirmation and after that deadline how much time more until others get a chance at admits?
Its critical for people in the waitlist to know an approximate date because we are way into May now
Hi -- we plan on doing admissions until the cohort is complete, and then notifying the others that they were not admitted.

We understand your concerns. The deadlines for making commitments are set by NYU Tandon and not by our program, and so we professors are not "in the loop" on these matters. Perhaps someone who is admitted next week can reply to this thread and let us know how long they have been given to make a commitment.

I was under the impression that more admits would have been given out last week. So wanted to ask if they were already given last week or has it been delayed to next week

Hi @NYU Tandon MS FE Admissions Team,

On March 13th, I was informed that I was placed on waitlist. I wanted to reiterate my sincere interest in your program and that NYU Tandon has always been my first choice for graduate studies.

I would like to kindly ask if it is possible to receive the final decision by the end of May. I understand that your program is unprecedentedly popular and the admissions procedure can take time, and I am grateful for the consideration given to my application so far. If I am honored to be admitted, I will definitely accept your offer and I am very willing to pay the deposit fee.

Thank you very much for reading my request.

Hi @Wenda Zhai -- we want to complete this process as much as you do. We understand your message and will do our best to let you and the others on the waitlist know the final decisions as quickly as we can.

Dear faculty,

As you mentioned there will be more acceptances next week, will there be any results release this Friday? Thank you in advance for your response. @NYU Tandon MS FE Admissions Team
Hi @jaforquant -- We have sent this week's decisions to the Tandon administration. We hope that they can process these very quickly, but we cannot promise something that we cannot control.

so more acceptance will be announced today? can the process be updated here so we can be more clear about it? really thanks

We have given you the updates that we can. When an academic unit here makes a decision about an application it goes to our Administration. These decisions are privileged information subject to the US law called FERPA. That limits the visibility of the communication from the Administration to the applicant to only the applicant. We professors are not aware of the timing of the communications to applicants, because under FERPA we do not have that privilege.

I wouldn't say you definitely will be rejected; however, people who are getting admitted from the waitlist have been on the waitlist for a shorter duration than people who have been on the waitlist since Jan/Feb (at least if the tracker is anything to go by)

No rhyme or reason to what goes into any decisions. It's probably best to start working on your backup...
