I will be applying to MFE programs in the next year, and want to get a head start and pinpoint weaknesses in my application.
Major: Bachelors in Electrical and electronics engineering from one of the reputed institutes in India
Minor: Finance
GPA: ~3.5 cumulative
GRE: not yet taken - aiming for - 165 quant, 150 verbal,
IELTS: aiming for 7.5-8
Work Experience: Interned for 5 months at a top Financial Services firm. Currently working in Traded risk department of a big holdings bank. will be having ~1 Year experience by the time I apply, and 2 years by the time I join the course.
Status: Indian citizen
Relevant Coursework (college curriculum): statistics, calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, derivatives, financial risk analytics, portfolio management, economics principles.
(courses outside): econometrics, numerical analysis, bayesian statistics.
Tech Stack: Fluent in C, Python, SQL, Tableau, Excel, Some Java
Programs:
- UMN
- FSU
I have excluded many programs owing to their fee, course duration, etc. Any suggestions to apply for are helpful.
