Hi everyone!
I need advice on my situation which I consider to be specific enough.
I currently live in Boston US, all my previous experience was gained in Russia during my engagement in telecom where I started as software engineer (C++ and Delphi) and grew to Department head for 8 years of work, what allowed me to gain solid technical background in computer technologies, databases, programming and managing skills in technical telecom support. Simulnateously with this job I carried out scientific research in Physics and eventually accomplished my Ph.D. in 2015. I dealt with experiment, data analysis and empirical model development for growth time series in physical and biological systems.
Today I have great aspiration to drift with all my skills to financial area, preferably in predictive modelling field. A few details of my competences:
Core competencies include: · Team Leadership · Project Management · Laboratory Investigations · Data Collection & Analysis · Predictive Models · Systems in Animate & Inanimate Nature · Regression Analysis · Pattern Recognition · Fault-tolerant Systems Development · Growth Curves
Technical Skills: Windows, Solaris, Linux, C++, C, Delphi, OOP, SQL, Oracle DB, MySQL, Matlab, R, Maple, Bash Scripting, Segmentation Algorithms
On one hand I am experienced enough to be efficient in new area as finance, on the other - I am novice in finance and don't have US experience.
So I would appriciate if you can give a few words feedback about prospects in my situation and recommendation of further steps to get into financial area.
Thanks
Pawel
