What would be the difference between quantitative analyst and data science jobs.
Is it true that a Data Science job would be more inclined towards programming and a quantitative analyst job would be more mathematical and research papers oriented ?
What would be the difference in work done as a quantitative analyst and a quantitative researcher ?

I believe your notion is correct, in that the mathematics for a Quantitative Analyst job is more mathematically driven as the rigor of mathematics required is stronger compared to a Data Science job --- which many DS roles are to produce insights/ build models for internal use. It would be great for someone who works in these roles to compare and contrast them. Keep in mind the QF and DS is a vast field so one size does not fit all. For example, a quantitative analyst is a broad term -- i.e, sell side, buy side, risk manager, model validator, trading role.
