Hi all, I have been acquiring help from Quantnet and I think I should also contribute:) I am just suggesting to have a math thread for all our hard core math guys to play around. I hope it would also be useful for those attending quant interviews. Two small questions to start with:

I saw from some other websites, how many points are there on a globe with the property of moving one mile south, followed by one mile east and one mile north brings us back to the same point?
Ans: Infinite

Highest cofactor of any two numbers that are multiplication of four consecutive integers? i.e. n(n+1)(n+2)(n+3) and m(m+1)(m+2)(m+3) where n and m are chosen randomly.
Ans: 4!

Enjoy. Admin can just delete my post in case there is another one already.

Yes, I thought it was factorial, I was just making sure ;)
In fact, that problem can be generalized to any number of consecutive terms.
