Research project idea

Hi,

I would really appreciate any suggestion on a financial engineering project for my team. We have taken finance classes and have master level math and cs background.

We seek a project that is not trivial, but not out of reach, preferably in a relatively hot subject. Any suggestions great appreciated!

IMO, research project idea is one of the most, if not the most, important aspects of doing research. Assuming this is a homework assignment, I say you should try to come up with one yourselves.
