Road to MFE - how to prepare to maximize changes of admission

Hi everyone,

i've been consuming informations from quantnet for a while and find always useful and i would like nd be thankful to have suggestions on what a possible path , in terms of preparation, would look like based on my background and experiences.

- I hold a MSc in Telecommunication Engineering from University of Bologna, obtained in 2012 with a 3.5 GPA
- obtained a CAS from ETH (Zurich) in Software Development & AI - 4.0 GPA
- currently studying in a DAS in Data Science always from ETH
- 12+ years work experience in software development , mostly within the financial industry between Italy, UK and Switzerland
- 3.5 years professional experience with C++
- i'm currently 39 years old

What would you suggest as action plan?
Which courses to do?

thank you for your reply. Planning to apply in EU to LSE, Bocconi, Bayes, Warwick and eventually ETH. Goal , considering my current experiences/background would, be to become a quant dev.

imo you do not need another degree to become a quant dev. Given your experiences and degrees, it seems VERY redundant to me. Network your way to one of those seats via LinkedIn recruiters or ppl who work at places you want to work. Sounds like the issue here is exposure rather than knowledge or experience which is the better problem to have. if you insist on going back to school, i would aim for better schools. Exclusively Oxbridge/imperial.
