Should I start a Math or a Computer Engineering degree?

Hi everyone,
I am studying economics and I have been reading about quant general background requirements. I realize that just economics is not enough, so I thought about starting a new career, but I have to decide between two: computer engineering or maths. What would you recommend me or what other degree should I consider?

My two cents. do maths (a mix of pure, applied, numerics).
CS doesn't have all that much maths.
And CS education doesn't teach programming, IN GENERAL.

A bit harsh, but reasonably accurate.

Would it be possible to get a math + econ double degree with a minor in CS? I seen quite a few successful students with that background who broke into top quant roles. Also it might be useful to note that there is a bit of a detachment between what courses are useful in a quant career and what courses are useful in breaking into quant. Most of the time, you probably don't need an Advanced Algorithm class or a tough real analysis course to be succesful at the job (being great at algorithms doesn't really indicate anything about practical coding ability since you only need to write pseudo-code for many algorithm classes), but being top in class of these courses helps break into these quant careers since it's some indication of your problem solving ability.

Thank you! I apreciate it so much
