Start Salary Quant London? (already having exp)

May someone give an approximate starting salary for a quant in an investment bank in London, if possible, taking in account the existence of previous experience and that the studies will be made at Msc MCF of Oxford.

Depends on how much experience and position you apply for. I finished this programme (MSc MCF) 6 months ago. Everyone who got a role at an IB as a quant had roughly 1-2 years experience max and only managed to get a position on the graduate schemes (possibly because they only applied for these), but nobody got a position directly on a desk. Salaries ranged: GS strats market ~£50k, Barclays Quants ~£60. There are a whole range of factors that influence this, like trading floor front office or not, experience so far, whether you go in as an Analyst or Associate (Citi MMF scheme is ~£80k for entering the MMF scheme as Associate)

The average graduate(junior out of uni) salary for finance role is probably £38k in London. Quant is higher at around £47k id say. So GS at £52k is touching the top end for grads. Ofc, with 2-3 years solid experience, this can jump to £80k, as shown by associate role at Citi.
 
Come on, not every graduate needs a private appartment in a good neighbourhood to start with. Plenty of new graduates just share an appartment with some roommates, you can easily survive on 50k (or maybe you guys were sarcastic).
 
If you are in the early/mid 20s that seem decent (yet v low compared to States) but late 20s/30s defnitely challening as you reflex for compromises goes down. 1-2 years after graduation is skills consolidation period and pay should be secondary maybe the quality of exp takes precedence.

I'm about to graduate soon - would 1-2 years in a machine learning/data science developer job (in a tech company) also apply as solid technical experience for quant positions?
