UCB MFE UCB MFE Admission Results Discussion

Theres only one thing in the conditions box, that says awaiting interview. I am not even sure if I am supposed to initiate this or the uni.

The application decision still says its held, but there are no other conditions of any sort for now.

Its really hard to grasp what they are saying...will definitely have to clarify this with the university personally

Same with @Akarsh here. It is kind of weird as I just completed an interview on Wed. Then I recieved the status update on Fri says “held pending completion an interview”. The admission committee did not reply to my email yet.

I guess it's possible that they haven't finished the reviewing process but had to release the round1 results by Friday, so they gave holds to some guys though these guys did receive the interviews.

But for me, I guess it's just an implicit rejection, in a somehow tactful way.

Is there anybody here who's been accepted already? I was asked to sign to remain under consideration status and that's what I did. I wasn't able to find out such conditions list. I'll appreciate if somebody help me out.

Even I got the same.

@hulim Hi! I just received a status update informing me that I am also held pending completion of an interview and I also interviewed last Wednesday... I'm also like super confused. Have you asked them about this?

They just replied to my email today and told me that there would be another interview but no further info given. I guess we will know more when we receive the invitation email.

Yeah I also was informed that they will be sending out interview invites by next week.

Edit: Adding to that, does anyone know broadly what they will be testing in the interview rounds? I haven’t used statistics or programming in my current job for a while, and might be out of touch.

Hey guys.

So I just received an interview invite from UCB, in 2 days. I wanted to inquire, just broadly, what basic topics they will be covering.

I ask this since at the time I began my application, I was fresh out of college, so did not need to worry, but now I feel I might be lacking somewhat in terms of answering technical questions, as well as programming skills. It doesn't help that I don't use any of these in my current job (prop trading firm, wonder if the interviewer sees this as a positive or a negative).

If there are any last minute resources anyone can share, it will be a great help.

Thanks.

Did my interview yesterday with a current student. All questions are technical and directly related to the courses and internship/research on my resume.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Don’t give me specifics, but what were the fields u were tested on? Purely statistics or programming also? Asking since I have a day to revise it all.

For reference, if you are aware of it, would cfa level 2 quant section be a set from which you were asked questions? Or are we expected to go beyond that?

I understand that this is all subjective, and can be a bit much to answer, but your help is greatly appreciated ^^
