Hello everybody,
I just got accepted to the U of C Singapore program and would really like some feed backs from previous or current students. I also was wondering if it was easy to get a visa to work in Singapore afterward or internship after the first summer? Also, if there a good placement in Singapore itself? I chose this program because I am excited to discover a new part of the world. I know there are limited Quant jobs in Singapore, but would also be willing to work in Investment Banking. I have a passion for both mathematics and capital markets and need any information about this program.
Thank you

Anyone from there?
Hey Ben, I got accepted by UChicago Singapore campus too. Did you ever contact them? Here is what I was told from their singapore team via email :

"We normally gauge employment rates six months after graduation. I can share with you that for the first four years of our program, we recorded a 100% employment rate within six months of graduation for graduates looking for employment (this was the case even for the class of 2008/09 which coincided with the depth of the financial crisis). For the 2012/13 class, our fifth cohort, the employment rate of graduates (including those who decided to take another higher degree), stood at 89% at the usual December check point. "

But he didn't mention the location which makes me curious.

I see some people rejected on tracker 'redirected to Singapore campus'.. does this means its easier to join the Singapore program? (I applied only to the Singapore one and was accepted)

Same situation here. I applied late and Chicago campus is closed. It might be because U.S is still more attractive to future candidates pursuing quant finance, which indicates more applicants for Chicago campus than Singapore campus.

I visited the UChicago Singapore campus before, it's one floor in an old office building in downtown, there's a classroom with video conference facility set up for streaming lectures from Chicago, a computer lab and some other rooms that I didn't go into. That's all there is. If you are looking for an on campus collegiate experience, I'm afraid there's none. Also this is not to be confused with the satellite campus that Booth has set up for its MBA program in Singapore, they are effectively two different venues.

I'm from UChicago Singapore campus, current student. Send me your email via PM and ask me anything:)
