I am a mathematician graduate (specialization: Applied Mathematics) and i am trying to choose a Masters Programme for me to enter the quant's world. I would like to know if this Masters Programme (http://msc.maths.ed.ac.uk/fmomsc/study) will help me to acquire the essential tools and knowledge for becoming a quant. My first choice was MSc in Financial Mathematics (http://msc.maths.ed.ac.uk/fimmsc/study) but, unfortunately, i was rejected and offered the MSc in FMO. I am of the opinion that the latter would teach me important courses for the trading domain, in contrast to the first that will drive me in the Risk Management, Investment management domain. Is this correct? As i am a newbie in the field of quantitative analysis, any advice is welcome. Could anyone propose another Masters programme in Europe which will help me to work in the US?

Thank you in advance.
