W: withdrawing from a course

Hello all,

I wanted to if it's looked upon by graduate school admissions as being absolutely awful to have a grade of W (official withdrawal) on a transcript?

Quickly, I'm taking a course which is only an elective (not at all major requirement). After a few weeks into it, I find it a mistake to have taken it in the first place. I simply have no interest in the topic, at all. I want to drop it and just take an extra elective next semester.

Just let me know what think.

Thank you
