Ryan,
I tried that link for VC++ 6.0 but no joy. Does it stop with XP??

// I would only dare to install VC++ 6.0 from a MSDN site?

@Daniel Duffy I don't think I need VC++ 6.0. I have resolved all compiler errors and my application runs for a while, but fails miserably after a while. I am trying to check all the database calls carefully. Are you familiar with CRecordset and CDatabase MFC classes? I'm finding the documentation to be cryptic and uninformative.

You should get your hands on MFC, ODBC books. It' been 20 years since I did this stuff.

CRecordset is just a list of records selected from a data source.
