Are these good Majors?

The applied maths program seems more solid to me. I'd argue that, holding things constant, more maths and programming is strictly preferred to econ/data analytics, most especially if applying for MFE. Having a solid foundation in the former subjects is a powerful weapon for whatever you on focus after that. Just my 2 cents... But again, conditional on what you are interested in and your end-goal. Hope this helps.
 
Ring Theory and Metric Space have a module to themselves?? feels like padding? no computation there.
ODE is needed for PDE.

Functional Programming in Python is a (very) small part of Python. OOP is more important.

How long has this course been in existence? You never get it right first time and student feedback is needed for the next year's content.
