Hi all,

I am sure that I am not the only one facing this issue.

I will be starting a MFE proggarm soon and I would like to get upto speed with the coursework.
I think most of the books on the master reading list are really great but I am from India and it takes about a month to ship some books here and they are also more expensive. Is anyone aware of any local publishers? and what are other international students doing in such cases?

Thx

Hi rohity, the common practice is to order from amazon, ebay, etc. International students usually do this and there is a very limited resources you can do otherwise. Another option is to get paid PDFs which sometimes are authorized by publishers but this is very rare. As for institutional importers, you can find them in some universities which have bookstore and they provide you with books they teach but this option is also very limited. So I think the only way is to take care of yourself and order separately unless you find imported ones earlier.

Another option is to get a Kindle and order Kindle versions of the books. I see a lot of people opt for this options as Kindle versions are cheaper and you can read them instantly instead of waiting for shipping.
Except a lot of the books are not on the Kindle yet. :(
