Baruch MFE Baruch MFE Q&A (ask current students)

I am Santhoshi from India, doing my B.Tech. third year in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with a CGPA of 9.38 so far. I had C, C++ and Java programming courses for one semester each. I had one semester of Managerial Economics and Financial Analysis course and four semesters of Probability, Statistics, Calculus and Linear Algebra. I would like to know if these match the requirement criteria for the Baruch MFE program. If not, I would like to know the areas I need to concentrate more on for improvement as I am very eager to get into Baruch College for the Masters in Financial Engineering Program.
Thank You.

Hi everyone,

I appreciate you all taking the time to help. I'm a senior at UIUC studying math and economics, with a minor in computer science. I've had a bit of internship experience in trading before. I'm currently in the process of applying for the Fall 2025 Master of Financial Engineering (MFE) program at Baruch. I have a few questions regarding the application:

  1. How did you prepare for the quantitative background assessment? Any tips or strategies you found helpful?
  2. In the following interviews during application process, how can I prepare well?
  3. Aside from applications to school, what do you suggest I can do to prepare for future interviews for quantitative trading and research positions?
I'd appreciate any insights or advice you can provide.

Thanks!
