Hi guys,
I have been accepted to study the MSc financial mathematics in both University of Birmingham and Queen Marry.
Would you please advise me on the quality as well as the employability of both school?
Which should I take?
Thanks in advance

Hi @lupintth , I did my A-Level and undergrad in UK and will go to UK again for my master course in financial mathematics as well for coming September. Firstly, congrats on your success in admission for master courses. Both are excellent universities so I can understand that it is a hard decision to make. In my opinion, financial maths in Queen Marry sounds like a better choice. The reason is the location of the university. They are about the same level in ranking but Queen Marry is located in London which will definitely be more helpful in getting a job in London. I guess this is why undergrad degree like Finance or Economics were very competitive in Queen Marry.
But I have seen quite a few UK friends who simply hate being in London and obviously it would be much more costly to stay in London. So please understand that this is my own opinion and hope you make your best decision.

Dear Han,
Thanks for your reply. However, I am even more confusing than ever.
Here are the 2 links to the two programs:

In terms of rankings:
Birmingham has 2 links:

Queen Marry:

Birmingham is both 62 and 153 while Queen is 115.

If we check out this link:

It seems to me that Birmingham has better course in consideration for quality and employability.

and also this link:

Further more, I just have one question: it is difficult for an Asian to find a job in England now, do we really have a shot if we apply to either program?

Thanks for your time

Neither is good for getting a quant job.

Oxbridge, Imperial, UCL. After those 4, odds drop off a cliff.
