Hi all,

Among these four programming languages, which one do you think is the most valuable to master for a Quant Developer ?

Thanks a lot for your comments.

C++ for sure. No doubt about it.

People think if you know C++ then you can learn any language (which is kind of true)

C# is becoming popular, even in combination with C++.
VBA is used a lot.

Learning a numbers of languages is much better.

Maybe this has been asked many times, but is C++ a good first programming language? Are there any other suggestions?

Speaking for myself:)

In the 80's I went from from Fortran and Cobol directly to C++. It would have been better if I had first done some C.

After C++, C# is useful for quant work IMO.
