I just got a job rec. Looking for a candidate with strong C# skills. Respectable 120k base, big bank in NY...
So I wouldn't say the market is only Python, Java, and R.
And C# + native C++ interop!
Maybe Mono?This only applies to Windows.
Not only Linux, OSX too. I was surprise how many new shops start with Apple Machines (cool factor?).Maybe Mono?
I suspect C# on Linux would be a small user base.
BTW does Excel run on Linux yet?
They don't use them. I mean if you start from scratch, there is no need to touch VBA or addins.How are non-VBA COM and Worksheet addins done in Excel?

I wouldn't touch COM with a 10 foot pole. This is dinosaur technology.
These days .NET has automatic converters for COM components. I was trying to scare you.
COM was a great idea in theory; Then came ATL, C++ ATL Excel addins were a nightmare.Thank God (or whoever) for that.
