I just got admitted to Cornell via email from Kathy King.

You are right, I saw the admission letter just now. Worrying didn't solve anything; waitng did.

The tracker suggests that last year the majority of admitted students where not interviewed. Only a small part were.
So I would assume that thous interviewed are applicants where they are perhaps unsure of their technical ability, English skills or just some other part of the requirements.

I did not have an interview, although I had met with Drs. Caggiano and Averbukh in the fall to discuss the program. And no, I am not a Cornell undergrad. In fact, I am a Canadian student from the University of Western Ontario.

According to the tracker, last year the invites came in 4-5 periods and I would assume that this was the first of thous. So just be patient, there is still hope.

Dear Applicant,
We do admissions continuously from now through April. As we have over 1,000 applications, it will take some time to process admissions, and these are not done all at one time, but continuously. I’m sorry but I do not have any further information at this time. You will be notified as soon as a decision has been made on your file (either way).

You might wish to tell your “forums” this as well, as we have had many similar requests such as yours.

I know everyone received the email asking them to apply. That doesn't mean that everyone did apply for the scholarship.

What I was wondering was whether they might be delaying to answer thous that are being considered for the scholarship while they reach a decision.

It shouldn't come as a surprise. I even get emails from program directors that they learn news about other MFE programs via our website.

None of my friends around received any pieces of information so I guess you are right. Wish we can be classmates in this program!
