Fordham MSQF Fordham MSQF Admission Discussion

There were fewer part time students in the ranking than I assumed, sorry for implying that you had missed opportunities. I was off base. +13/29 is not terrible (though far from ideal), and your location requirement adds additional complications. Your original posts make sense. I wanted to make sure you knew of other opportunities, but didn't mean to imply that you were lazy in your search. I hope your admissions process goes well, and I'm sorry to say that I have no information on Fordham's program.
Definitely not true...

I've gotten into JHU FinMath and Stevens MFE as well... although based on QuantNet's rankings, my #1 choice based on my options right now SHOULD be JHU. I do think that Fordham's program is decently competitive, and it's in NYC (I'm based in NYC), so it's convenient for me to get admissions. Still waiting to hear back from Fordham, NYU (waitlisted), and Columbia (top choice!!)
Hi when did you hear back from JHU? I applied last Dec 14 and have yet to receive any progress :(

Hi Everyone,

Wanted to let you know we are still accepting applications for this Fall 2023. Our Round 3 Deadline is March 17th.

Fordham will be hosting an MSQF information session on March 8th and you will be able to learn about our program and hear from Admissions, Faculty, Advising, Career Development, and Current Students. You can register at this link here

If you have questions feel free to post here as well.

Hi @jversaci,
Thank you for joining and posting on QuantNet.
For those unable to attend the info session, would a recorded version be posted online?
I know a lot of applicants get their research done through google searches which lead to forum like QuantNet so any info you and your team can share here would benefit everyone. A lot of questions about Fordham seems to evolve around admission status, career services, students feedback so it seems there is huge demand for those info.

Hello,

May I ask if you have any placement statistics for 2022? I'm an international student and wanted to know my chances of staying in the US after the program.
Thank you!

Hello,

There will be a recording of the session. We do encourage you to sign-up for the event, so if you are unable to attend we can send it to you properly.

During the session, we will be covering from most of these more in detail and can answer more specific questions. Feel free to also sign up for one on one Finance Coffee Chats here. It can be a conversation with Admissions or with a current student.

Also we will be having some current student posting on this thread so you can hear more from them about their experience.

Background: I just received an admit from Fordham with a $15k scholarship, and I currently have an admit from BU aswell, confused amongst the two, a few reviews would help out a lot.
hello! Could you share more reviews or your final decision for me? having the same situation. That would help me a lot

Hello all,

I have my interview for Fordham's MSQF in a couple of days. I'd greatly appreciate any insights, advice, or suggestions from those who have gone through the process before. Specifically, I'm curious about the interview format, common questions asked, and any tips for preparation.

Thanks in advance!

Hey! I had my interview a month ago, and they asked both behavioral and technical questions (calculus, linear algebra, probability theory, and brain teasers). The interview took me about 30min. I cannot share any specific details due to the ethics, but I can reassure you that the admissions process with them is quite enjoyable and you won’t feel any pressure. Just stay calm and maybe refresh your knowledge of basic calc/stats. Good luck!
