How would the inflation be in near future?

Not long ago, the market feared inflation and the yield on 15 and 30 year bonds started rising. The drop in yield in 15 year bonds from 5.06 to 4.89 and similar behavior in 30 year has shown rather a benign inflation. The market seems to be bipartisan on inflation.

What other indicators would reflect the nature/behavior of inflation?

I am sure commodities like gold would be a secure place to invest as inflation grows and the take off point of inflation would be the best point to enter.

The issue of inflation is related to the fate of the dollar. And here Michael Hudson's recent essay may be of interest. In addition, Stroupe has written a 3-part piece at Asia Times, which should also be of interest. Ellen Brown argues the short-term problem is deflation and she makes a plausible case here.
