Hi all,
I'm looking to start a part-time Masters degree in London this year in Finance/Financial Mathematics/Financial Engineering but I am unsure what is the best option for me. I work full time in London so need somewhere that does evening or weekend classes but still has a good reputation (one that is recognised worldwide).
So far, I have have looked at below programmes:
LSE, MSc Finance
Kings College London, MSc Financial Mathematics
Birkbeck, MSc Financial Engineering
My goal is to work as a desk quant or as close to that as possible. With the LSE, I will get a great brand name but will it have enough math to give me a good grasp on quantitative techniques? (there is a financial engineering module but not sure how deep this goes). I also appreciate that this will not cover any form of programming. Birkbeck and KCL seem to be on a par for the level of mathematics but do not share the same reputation as LSE.
Does anyone know of any other reputable part-time (evening/weekend) Masters courses in London?
How important is it to have the better brand name compared to having the more appropriate discipline on your CV?
Any advise would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Michael
