Has anyone in the Toronto area heard of "LongShort Hedge Fund"? They called me for an interview on Tuesday, but cannot find any information about them on the web.

After further research, I highly doubt it's a legitimate fund. I just wanted to see if anyone else was approached by them.

Are you sure you aren't missing the name of the hedge fund management company?

There are several Toronto funds with long/short in the name.

Polar, Epic and Redwood come to mind -

That is the correct name.

The address of the "company" is an appartment building (not downtown).

Also, I was told several hours later that the interview would be at a Tim Horton's.

Needless to say, I don't see any point in pursuing this.

At least go get some free food.

I don't understand what these people want from you. Are they trying to poach out-of-work quants for cheap to do prop trading for them?
