Masters after a PhD?

Hello all,

I am just about to finish a PhD in Physics and am looking to become a quant. My PhD is in observational astronomy so I've got lots of experience with handling large datasets and deriving statistical information about them, and am a confident programmer.

If anything, I feel that my knowledge in pure mathematics is somewhat lacking, and was wondering whether it would be better off to do an Masters in Financial Engineering before applying for jobs?

There are more developer roles available than a pure quant role so as long as you can code, work with huge data set, there should be a job for you.
MFE may lead you to the same place you end up without one.
