NYU Tandon MFE NYU Tandon MFE admissions thread

Hi NYU MFE Admission Team,

I submitted my application on March 15. When should I expect to get the decision?

Thank you!

Hi NYU MFE admission officers,
I applied before the priority deadline, and it still says awaiting decision on my application portal. NYU MFE is my top 1 choice, and I am really anxious now. Is there any idea that when will I receive the decision? Thank you!
Hi! We have a goal of making sure that priority round applications all have answers within the next two weeks -- by the end of March.

Hi NYU MFE Admission Team:

Although I applied the round 2 and submitted the application in January, NYU MFE is my top choice as well. I would just pay the enrollment deposit right away if I have the chance. My application is awaiting as well! Is there any idea for when I can receive decision?

Thank you so much!!!

Our school extended the admissions deadline for all programs to 15 March -- we are told that we will be given all completed, scanned, application portfolios by the end of March. We will then work very hard to make decisions during the first two weeks of April. Please note that once the program makes a decision it can take NYU 2 or 3 days to make the needed database entries and make that decision known to an applicant.

Hi! I am curious how many offers would you send out in the following weeks.

So, my GRE score was received yesterday. Tandon's admission office told me the result could be posted in 2 weeks. I want to double check with MFE team if I can receive the result in 2 weeks in this circumstance.

Hi Frank,
Our team will act as quickly as possible. There are so many people who "touch" an application dossier that I can not give you a guarantee, but I can promise that there will be no delays in the academic department.

Hi,
I wonder what no delay means? How long it takes the academic department to evaluate my application and make te decision?

Hi Frank,
We have cleared our queue by the close of business each day for two weeks now -- we expect to continue to make decisions the same day that we are given a dossier.
I didn’t see the enrollment checklist and no offer too. I called to the office today, and they told me my application was under academic department review. Is that an indicator that I didn’t receive the admission?

Did anyone else meet this situation? I think the academic department has made the decision for me, but I didn't see the enrollment checklist yet. I wonder if it's a bad indicator.

There's nothing currently under review by our department. There's probably a lag in updating between departments.
US data privacy laws (FERPA) prohibit us from disucssing anyone's admission status outside of a secured communications channel -- obviously, Quantnet is not such a place so I cannot address your other issue here. Sorry.

Have admissions started going out from the waitlist? Is there any idea how many acceptances will be going out from the waitlist?
