Hi everyone,

I am interested in the field of financial engineering and have been reading numerous posts on this forum to learn more about the same. I have a basic idea of what it is and have also done some research about the different Masters level financial engineering programs.

However, I am a little confused when it comes to the actual financial engineering positions on the Street and what they entail. Some of the questions I have are below:

- How much programming does a financial engineer do everyday?
- How much of the material (more specifically the math) that one learns in the MFE program is used on the job
- For recent MFE grads, how different was your MFE internship from what you'd imagined it to be

Could some of you kindly give a brief description of your internship or your current position to illustrate what a financial engineer really does on an every day basis.

Thanks for your help.
