I am in the process of applying to several graduate schools and wanted some thoughts on what people thought the best masters was for my situation / goals. Generally, I want to be quantitative in ability but do not expect to be HEAVY in programming or mathematical analysis from a career prospective (I have some programming / math skills, however). Geographically, I want to be in Texas or California.
I was accepted into Rice University Masters in Stats (Financial Statistics and the Study of Risk) and University of Texas Business Analytics. I just finished my application and I am waiting to hear from UCLA and Berkeley MFE.
I have 2 years of prop trading experience and I currently am in a more quantitative market position (think simplistic derivatives pricing)
Positions desired post grad school: Sales and Trading, Portfolio Management, Strategy, Modelling and Valuation, Hedge Fund
Positions NOT desired post grad: Risk, Research, Corporate Finance, Prop Trading
