UCLA MFE UCLA MFE?

So,a score of at least 790 in Quant is needed to be "safe"? Does the verbal and AW scores count or not at all?

Andy, when I mentioned stress involving the GRE,I was certainly not referring to difficulty of the test itself but of the side effects those hours have on your everyday life, especially when you do your military service at the Hellenic Navy! ;-)

I would also like to ask if anybody of you knows the reputation of my school...From what I saw,the Informatics & Telecommunitions department is rated 82nd/100 in the world...

Hello everyone,

I just joined to the QuantNetwork. I would like to get some information from you guys about MFE programs. My situation is slightly different. I am doing Phd in Experimental Particle Physics at UF. I am considering to apply to Berkeley and UCLA MFE programms after I am done my Phd. I should say that I have NO experience in finance/business, even I have not taken any class in that field. But, I have strong background in math and programming. Also, I consider to take CFA level I exam before applying. How do you think will I have any chance to be admitted in either MFE program? Does it make sense to even apply to those universities? I will appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome, your questions have been answered in some shape or form already. Try searching the threads. You can also look at profiles of admitted students at the UCB mfe site to get a feel of the type of folks that make it in.

Don't waste time doing an extra degree, you can hit the street with your PhD.

720 is an automatic reject for UCLA or Cal or other top programs.... but is still good enough for U$C.
