As a math and computer science student, I am very lucky to have a few internship offers from different industries for the coming summer and am looking for some inputs from you guys about different types of positions. Below is a list of the types of offers i get. What are the pros and cons of each position? Which one do you think I should go for?

1. software developer in technology company. This one pays the best, almost twice as other positions.
2. developer in quantitative trading firms (however I dont get to work with their quants. the quants are located in another branch in another city)
3. trading in quantitative trading firms (I dont get to work with their quants. the quants are located in another branch in another city)
4. small trading firms where I get to work with both traders and developers (There is no quant working there though)

what do you like doing and what's your long term goal?

anyway, it doesn't matter because #3 is the best and will give you the most options.

why is #3 the best?
because just about anyone can be a developer at a trading firm and you dont have enough education to be a real quant. trading experience is hard to get, and it's easy to go from trading to quant if you decide to go get more education. oh and #4 sounds like a fundamental shop, and I'm assuming that you'll find it to be boring as hell.
