Will Java be acceptable?

I am an undergraduate and major in finance, minor in maths and computer science in US. Unfortunately, our department does not offer C++ courses but Java. So will Java be acceptable in MFE application?

Most of the programming work at CMU is in C++ hence they recommend that the student has some C++ experience

It should state clearly on the admission requirement on each program's website. Some programs demand a specific language (C++, BaruchMFE), some will treat Java/C++/Matlab equally.
So the answer is it depends on where you apply.
