Samsung sliding tablet with keyboard runnings windows 7:

Motorola Xoom Tablet:

Not too impressed with the Motorola tablet honestly. I am really looking forward to the new Google Honeycomb OS that was designed for tablets however...which this is going to run.

New BlackBerry Playbook tablet sporting the new QNX OS (ripped off from Palm):

As much as I dog on BlackBerry their new OS is pretty damn impressive. I was a huge fan of Palms WebOS which sports the same type of multitasking in its smartphone. I'd hold off on buying any BB phone until it is running on this OS and BB has said that won't happen until their phones start to have dual cores in them...so could be sometime in 2011. Also if you like what you see in this video, I'd suggest waiting till HPs event in early Feb. I believe they'll be coming out with a WebOS tablet that might compete very well with this BB device.

I haven't seen may impressive smartphone announcments yet. Some new ones from the normal players but nothing big.

A whole host of new laptops running all the new chips have been announced as well. My Favorite so far:

SmartTVs seem to be big this year, which is something that has been a long time coming imo.

There is still a lot of stuff from CES still rolling in but here are some quick ones that caught my eye.

Nice now I want that laptop too! Love the iPhone and iPad, but hate Macs ...

I definitely want the Samsung laptop and the Samsung Tablet. Either or would be great too :)

I'm looking for a tablet that allows me to read books. It must be on the Verizon network as well. If it has a way to write notes, even better.

New tablet needs to be able to thin and do Linux. I looked at the Macbook Air and although I like it, Linux on 2 GB of memory doesn't appeal anymore.

Tablet, iPad, etc seems more toys than laptop replacement to me. Or do people want to get another gadget just for the sake of it?

gizmodo, engadget, techcrunch, BGR....I check em all. Like engadget the best.

Also check out venturebeat a lot.

I debated this for a long time. My issue with laptops (this is just personal), I'm getting tired of carrying my big laptop around. It's really good but after a while becomes heavy.

Regarding a tablet, I found myself reading the newspaper online all the time on the phone. That doesn't appeal to me. Also, I like to read books and the tablet is a great solution (there is one more detail but it's not worth discussing).

BTW, I looked at the specs of the Samsumg 9 Series laptop (http://tinyurl.com/37hy5n7), and for me, this is a problem:

• Screen: 13.3-inch HD LED-backlit SuperBright Plus display (400 nit)
• Resolution: 1366x768

Until somebody comes with a laptop with a resolution of 1440x900, it's not going to be a challenge for the Macbook air.

anyone plans to buy the iPad 2 on March 11?

Yes. I was able to restrain my temptation the first time around. This one is just way too enticing.

P.S. I have no need for it nor do I know what it will help me do.

Well as someone who works with Samsung R&D let me tell this year Samsung is coming up with a lot of new stuffs...Just wait for it...

That's why Apple is trading at $350...

I'm waiting. I do want a light laptop with a good screen resolution. There is a Samsung with better performance specs but more expensive (this is not a big factor for me) but smaller resolution. That's the dealbreaker.

If you have any idea, how much time do I have to wait?
