Why HP? As you know I'm no Dell fan-boy but their printers have been marvelous to me. Last year I purchased the Dell 2130cn on eBay brand new for $175 and it is the best printer I have ever owned. I've had bad HP experiences with printers as well as everything else...

I would consider Dell printer as well but I don't need color printer. There is no need to pay for more expensive ink.
I have seen deals for that printer as low as $50

Last year I bought a 4 pack of non-OEM black toner for my printer on eBay. It was $13 I think. Still going strong, 6,000+ papers later

More details regarding the office, these are medical offices with an 100+ patients per day with 2 brother printers for anything that is not done electronically and prescriptions. They hold very well. The offices have been going strong for the last 10 years.

They break around once every 3 years with plenty of daily use. So we have HL-5470DW and HL-5250DN (this is the old version) plus the one I mentioned before.
