Affordable Online Math Courses

Does anyone know of any affordable and accredited online math courses that are recognized by UCB?

These 2 are really expensive and I don't think you can expedite the courses:

This one is afforable and you can accelerate the courses at your own pace:
http://netmath.uiuc.edu/
BUT it doesn't offer PDE and Numerical Methods.

Any suggestions? (espeically for PDE and Numerical Methods)

You may want to ask them directly because you don't want to spend several thousands dollars and time on something that they won't accept. I would be interested in any answer you can find from them.
I think with more and more online offerings from universities become available, the perception and acceptance will only improve.
 
If you have some news about this could you share with us? I'm in the same case, but looking in local universities. Those named universities are really expensives

Did I read it right, 30K for a maths course???
That's 30K+ fee for an online master degree in applied math from U of Washington. It's a 36 credits degree which can be done in one year full-time.
It does not appear you can take the courses a la carte so this is not an option for people who want to fill requirements.

PDE and Numerical Methods (Analysis) would probably be extremely hard in an online format. I took PDE as an independent study and that was hard, but I had an adviser to turn to for help.

It is actually possible to take individual courses from UW applied math program - see about "nonmatriculated student status" at this page.

The courses are not linked to a university as such which means I suppose is an issue. On content, I don't know of any other course with the same focus because we do PDE/FDM/C++ and QF into one full packet.

In my opinion (and I am not always objective :)) numerical methods, PDE and so on are always very useful. In QF, for example, PDE are used for fast pricing and calibration and are superior and more applicable than some other methods.

And implementing these techniques in C++ is possible. BTW the QN C++ course has a section on this very topic.

I do give a certificate signed by my organisation.

I think it is best to do NM, then PDE theory and Numerical PDE in that order.

I just finished my final exam on Vector Calculus from UIllinois. I'll most probably be signing up for Linear Algebra with them as well but I'm still awaiting confirmation from UCB. I haven't decided on where to read the PDE and NM modules...still looking around. What about you?

What do you think about the quality/effectiveness of the UIllinois coursework? Was it a good experience?
