Wondering if there are any Canadians who got financial math degrees in the US and then went back to Canada to try find a job on Bay Street. Do Canadian employers favor Canadians coming from US schools, or would it be better to pick Toronto or Waterloo to study? (I'm talking about top-tier US schools like NYU, Princeton, CMU, etc.)

If you think there's a chance you may want to work in the US (NYC, Boston, Chicago, SF, etc), go to a US school.
If you are certain that you will stay in Canada, Toronto and Waterloo are perfectly fine choices.

Toronto recruiters have historically gone bonkers for NYC work experience and ivy names.
That said, GTA recruiting fresh out of school is much easier from a homegrown program.
