quant career path without PhD

I am an undergraduate majoring in mathematics with background computer science. For this summer I will be interning in modelling department at one of the investment banks in NYC. I am thinking about working full time the same job after graduating.

Few concerns: Will my career progression be disadvantaged by not having a PhD degree? I think I can do math pretty well, but it seems in my group everyone has PhD from a top school in math, physics or cs. How would they look at someone without it? If I get promoted to associate, would they look at me at the same level as newly hired PhD graduate?

Thank you!
