Hi All,

I’ve just been offered a conditional acceptance into the UCB MFE program for spring 2025

Context: I was waitlist in early March without interview and nearly completed my checklist items except for one and pre program courses.
Received an alumni interview in early August and a second interview with Diane at the end of August.

Hello all, I just had a quick question. I just received an e-mail from UC Berkeley about their MFE program encouraging me to apply. I just got my Bachelor's degree in mathematics from a smaller university, but my GPA isn't exactly the greatest (2.75). But I did score a perfect 800 on the quantitatiive section of the GRE. I was just wondering if this is a common occurance for them to send e-mails just to collect an easy $200 on the application fees or if there is some actual interest on their part. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Oxbridge undergrad, with strong 2:1 performance (3.7/3.8 gpa), US Citizen
GRE Q 170/170
-1.5 YOE at Central Bank, with publication in fixed income, which has had a high-profile citation
-1 buyside internship
-1 RA position at T5 business school
A / A- in all math courses (multivariable calculus, linear algebra, ordinary and partial differential equations, analysis, advanced econometrics)
References are also stellar
C++, Python (distinction) Quantnet certificate

Not sure what happened here. I answered 90% interview questions with no help needed.

Maybe round 4 is super tough, but gonna apply broadly

I received a waitlist decision yesterday. But the list of courses in preparation seems a little absurd to me. Is it required to take all of them including the pre-program courses for getting an admission?

Same situation with this member. You have to meet every single condition to be considered but admission is not guaranteed. This has been a dilemma for many applicants as long as I remember.

In my case, they returned the result 4 weeks after the interview.
