I'm currently involved in some undergraduate research at the Center for Applied Mathematics at my school. The problem is, this research has to do with chaotic systems in aerospace applications, rather than something more relevant to financial engineering. My question is whether or not this will increase my chances of being considered for an MFE program, being irrelevant to the field of quantitative finance.
