Hello everyone,

I am a C++ software engineer with 4 years of experience.
I have been working 2 years and a half for a company that handles transactional high throughput software, that runs 24/7 with no downtime allowed.
After that I moved into a company (one of the market leaders) that provides a trading platform to financial institutions.

I am graduated from a top engineering university in europe and I hold a master degree in computer science engineering.

I was wondering: could I think about a career shift towards quantitative development?
Also HFT would be nice.

Wat are your suggestions? Unfortunately I can't move in the USA due to their h1b VISA policies, so I'm looking for a job in Europe, mainly in Switzerland, or France.

thank you!

sure you can but nobody is going to knock at your door and hire you.

well, you could with some luck and a pay cut, since you lack financial knowledge like pricing of derivatives. what about moving to london?

I wouldn't mind moving to London, and I am open also to other locations such as Canada or Australia :)
Also, what about a career in HFT?

thanks for your answers.
