Wikileaks.org

I love Wikileaks. I was rushing for a fraternity and was constantly told that I will have to drink Acid as part of the initiation.

Found their whole initiation on Wikileaks and just laughed my *** of through the whole procedure.

So I've never really looked into Wikileaks before. Do you have to donate to access anything beyond the front page? I can't find any type of search.

Also, is there anything Wall Street related? (Other than things like SEC filings that can be found on Footnote)

It is the latest in a long list of "leaks" published by the secretive site, which has established a reputation for publishing sensitive material from governments and other high-profile organisations.
In October 2009, for example, it posted a <!-- S ILIN -->list of names and addresses <!-- E ILIN -->of people it claimed belonged to the British National Party (BNP). The BNP said the list was "malicious forgery".

'Who controls the past' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.'

WikiLeaks Ready to Release Giant 'Insurance' File if Shut Down

Julian Assange, the WikiLeaks founder, has circulated across the internet an encrypted “poison pill” cache of uncensored documents suspected to include files on BP and Guantanamo Bay.

One of the files identified this weekend by The Sunday Times — called the “insurance” file — has been downloaded from the WikiLeaks website by tens of thousands of supporters, from America to Australia.

Assange warns that any government that tries to curtail his activities risks triggering a new deluge of state and commercial secrets.

WikiLeaks reveals sites critical to US security - Yahoo! News

WASHINGTON – In a disclosure of some of the most sensitive information revealed yet by WikiLeaks, the website has released a secret cable listing sites worldwide that the U.S. considers critical to its national security.
The locations cited in the diplomatic cable from U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton range from undersea communications lines to suppliers of food, medicine and manufacturing materials.
The Pentagon declined to comment Monday on the details of what it called "stolen" documents containing classified information. But a spokesman, Col. David Lapan, called the disclosure "damaging" and said it gives valuable information to the country's adversaries.
"This is one of many reasons why we believe Wikileaks' actions are irresponsible and dangerous," Lapan said.
WikiLeaks released the 2009 Clinton cable on Sunday.
In the message, marked "secret," Clinton asked U.S. diplomatic posts to help update a list of sites around the world "which, if destroyed, disrupted or exploited, would likely have an immediate and deleterious effect on the United States."
The list was considered so confidential, the posts were advised to come up with it on their own: "Posts are not/not being asked to consult with host governments in respect to this request," Clinton wrote.

Now he has agreed to pay a visit to Scotland Yard to answer some questions. Should be interesting. I hope for his sake he inspects any tea he's given with a geiger counter and politely declines the offer of an escort out of the building via the parking garage.

It seems that the US government is going after Wikileaks. First, they got Interpol to slap some sexual harrassment charges against the founder.

Sweden issued the Interpol notice, unless you have some documents to leak yourself?

Julian Assange turned himself into police this morning:
Julian Assange, the public face of WikiLeaks, was arrested Tuesday morning in London at the request of Swedish authorities, Scotland Yard said. After voluntarily surrendering to police, the 39-year old Australian is expected to appear in a London court later Tuesday.

Sweden has asked that Assange be extradited so that it can investigate allegations by two women who had sexual encounters with him in the country earlier this year. Swedish prosecutors say the encounters may have involved "unlawful coercion" and even rape, but Assange has insisted that the liaisons were consensual. Interpol placed Assange on its most-wanted list on Nov. 30 after Sweden issued an arrest warrant. Last week, Sweden's highest court upheld the detention order.

Julian Assange Book to Cover Founding of WikiLeaks - NYTimes.com

LONDON — Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, will release an autobiography next year, having signed publishing deals that he told a British newspaper might be worth $1.7 million.

He is, however, likely to be beaten to the punch with his version of events inside WikiLeaks. Daniel Domscheit-Berg, a German who was formerly Mr. Assange’s deputy in the organization, will release his own memoir in mid-February. It is likely to detail a public falling out, partly over the sexual allegations against Mr. Assange in Sweden, that led to Mr. Domscheit-Berg’s leaving late last summer.

“Inside WikiLeaks: My Time With Julian Assange at the World’s Most Dangerous Website,” will “reveal the evolution, finances and inner tensions” of the organization, said an announcement last week from Crown publishers, another imprint of Random House.

Mr. Domscheit-Berg is writing the book, according to a spokeswoman for his publishers in Germany, and is also working on his own Web site to rival WikiLeaks. That site, OpenLeaks, is expected to reveal its first batch of classified secrets early next year.
