Hi to all of you, I'm new to the forum:)

I'm finishing a PhD in theoretical physics in a couple of months, in a uni with good reputation in France. I'm rather old (31), but my goal is to eventually get a Front Office quant position.

For this, I have basically thought of two possible ways to boost my CV a little bit :

1- Getting the Certificate in Quantitative Finance + try and find a FO internship afterward

2- or get a french Master program for a year (there are a few good ones like the Master Finance et Probabilités "El Karoui").

What would be the best option?

31 is not that old for a PhD.
The next CQF batch starts in January, when do you finish your Phd ?

Thanks Andy that's actually a good idea with the track record of careers.

DominiConnor, I'm finishing the PhD officially in Nov 2012. My original idea was to take the CQF this January actually. But based on the financial investment that it represents for me (basically all my savings lol), I would need to know if it would really help me towards my FO goal.
