I'm so loving the Alert system.

Thanks for the report. Can you see it if you log out?
Can you click on the What's New? at the top and see if new posts are shown?
Can you clear your browser's cache? (Ctrl+F5)

If possible, I would love to see some screenshots of what you are seeing and we will get to the bottom of it.

Threads are getting lost when I post a reply. It should pop up no the top. So that I can find it someone having answered on.

This problem has been fixed and we have brought back the Latest Replies box. Will work on improving the layout for better readability.

A real-time map of Quantnet members via Google. Of course, each pin does not connect to a username for privacy concern
I got a kick out of looking at this. It gives a pretty accurate representative of the member base here

Forum visitors are notoriously known as lurkers. I know people who have lurked for years without sign up. I myself read other forums and only register when I have something to post or want to join the community.
So it's a normal thing. We made it very easy here for people to use our site without forcing them to sign up. And we routinely purge users who have registered but never visited or posted for over a long period of time. We have 20k+ registered members which I trim to around 8K at this time.

As for the map, it's a real-time snap shot of the members using Quantnet at that moment. It will change if you refresh the page.

Which background? The background where the post is? Can you link me some website with dark background that look good so I can take a look at the color scheme?

I believe there is a time limit on how long you can return and edit your post. I'll check to see what it's set for.

Whoa.. that's a lot of readers! Are many of those visitors bots or something?

No. We don't include bots on the map. On average we have 3500 visitors a day and that number doubles every few months.

And in case you don't want to see the discussion clustered with distractive signature, you can turn them off in your profile's preferences.
