C++ Online Certificate Students' intro thread

Objective: To learn C++ for admission to Baruch MFE Fall 2025

Programming experience: None , save some experience in Java Netbeans years ago

Current work: I recently completed my MBA in Finance from Stevens Institute Of Technology and now currently searching for roles in Investment Banking (Sell Side)

Intended pace of program: I hope to complete this program within 8 weeks

Programming experience: None , did little basics of C++ in 10th Standard(15 years back)

Current work: I'm working in Treasury department with one of the Hedge Fund house.

Intended pace of program: I hope to complete this program within 8-12 weeks

Objective: Getting back into C++ programming and hopefully transition to a quant developer role/programming role

Programming Experience: Python, R, C++ (professional experience but not recent), SQL (it is defined as a programming language)
Current Work: Build Credit Risk models
Intended pace: Within the 16 weeks ;) I completed [at least initial drafts] of the first two weeks of homework before enrolling.

It appears a few people are here.

Current work: Applied Math student.

Intended pace of program: 5 weeks
 
Objective: To get a foundation in C++ so I can debug some pricing code at work

Programming experience: Around 6 years of Python and R

Current work: I work in portfolio analytics in a hedge fund services group at a bank. I have a MSc in Applied Economics and looking to move to a research team inside my bank.

Intended pace of program: Shooting to finish in about 12 weeks
