C++ Online Certificate Students' intro thread

Hi everyone, I’m glad to be the 1661st individual person to this living thread :)

Objectives: Prepare me for MFE programs, fill any programming knowledge gaps, and learn another life skill
Programming Experience: Experience with R, some experience with Python, SAS, SQL, C++
Current Work: Recently graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics, concentration in Statistics. Currently seeking opportunities
Intended Pace: Unsure, I’ve taken Comp Sci 2 in C++ years ago, and it’s been a while since I’ve touched anything outside of Python and R. I think that the ideal pace is one that challenges me enough where I can thoroughly digest the information, but without causing burnout and the need to rush.

Hello everyone :)

Objectives: Preparing as early as possible for the field I would like to pursue, bridging finance and programming.
Programming Experience: Some Python from university coursework, as well as Racket.
Current Work: Currently a 2nd year mathematics student, intending to take many probability & stats courses, as well as programming courses.
Intended Pace: I intend to take this course at a comfortable pace, given I will likely lack the fundamental intuitions and will therefore, will need to construct a fundamental understanding from the ground up.

Hi everyone! I'm Tiago.

Objective: Learning C++ for a FinMath or FinEng program
Programming Experience: Python, R, SQL, TypeScript (React), and little projects with VBA, Rust, Java, C
The intended pace of the program: As quickly as possible - aiming for <7 weeks
Current work: Sales engineering in capex-heavy industry - I got used to building tools and modeling financials, and figured this field was just right for me

Would students who recently enrolled in this course be interested in starting a group on linkedin? I'd really enjoy making some connections with peers around my age/experience group. We could also look into other apps/messengers for study groups.

That is a great idea. I would really love to connect to people who completed the C++/Python courses and maybe have a meetup in different cities.
